BECOME A NICA COACH

NICA coaches help build strong minds, bodies, character, and communities by getting more kids on bikes.

NICA coaches are leaders who inspires youth to become lifelong cyclists. NICA’s comprehensive coach education program provides both new and existing coaches with the training and resources needed to be confident, competent, and empowered leaders. NICA coaches do more than create amazing experiences for student-athletes; they build the foundation for healthy mountain bike communities.

Skilled and dedicated NICA coaches are the most important aspect of our Tennessee programs. Tennessee League coaches prioritizes the safety and overall well-being of their student-athletes. All Tennessee League coaches are NICA-licensed coaches who serve as role models and teachers by continuing to learn the best practices of youth mountain bike coaching while actively honing their leadership skills.

  • No experience is necessary to become a Tennessee League coach, as we provide all the training and tools needed for you to succeed.
  • To support your development, we have several coach supporters available for mentoring. We also offer comprehensive training at our annual Leadership Summit in the spring, as well as On-The-Bike Skills clinics throughout the year.

How do I get started?

The path to becoming a Tennessee League coach generally begins in the spring with the annual Leadership Summit and Coach Retreat. The next step is to obtain a coach license. Then, gather support from your community and create a team with guidance from the League.
