NEW RIDER

New Rider Information for Parents & Students

Welcome to the Tennessee League!

If you are looking for a fun, safe, and engaging way to explore the outdoors with friends on bikes, you are in the right place.

Our programs, practices, and event season begin with the pre-season in April and conclude in early November. Team development and coach training begin in March.

Together with parents and teachers, we develop school-based bicycle programs for student-athletes across the state of Tennessee.

Steps to Get Started

Step 1: Determine if a team is available in your area.
You can find a list of current teams on our team information page. Once you have reviewed the list, please reach out to your League Director to get connected. If there isn’t a team nearby, parents can start one—no experience is necessary, as we provide all the training and resources needed. Students may also participate as independent riders.

Step 2: Become a NICA-Tennessee League member in the NICA Pit Zone.
Your head coach or team director will send you an invitation to the NICA Pit Zone, our secure online registration system. Once you receive the link via email, complete your registration to become “practice and/or race ready.”

Step 3: Enjoy being part of your team.
While the official season begins in July, our pre-season starts in April. We encourage parents to get involved by volunteering as a coach or assisting during event weekends. To learn more about our community, please visit our Community Events Page.
